ABOUT
Allan O’Dette is an experienced corporate director and former CEO with a strong background in governance, large-scale negotiations, and operating in highly regulated environments. He has held board roles across the public, private, association, start-up, insurance, and hospital sectors.
He is Principal of O’Dette & Associates Inc., advising on corporate strategy, governance, capital raising, and government relations. His experience spans manufacturing, finance, life sciences, automotive, and insurance, and includes advising global organizations on the Canadian business and investment landscape. He currently advises a multi-sector group of clients and sits as a corporate director.
Mr. O’Dette was previously Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Medical Association, representing the policy and economic interests of 43,000 physicians, and Chief Investment Officer for the Province of Ontario, where he led foreign direct investment and job creation initiatives. He also held the role of President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, leading province-wide strategic renewal. Prior to his public sector leadership, he spent over twenty years in progressively senior roles in the biopharmaceutical sector.
He holds an MBA from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management, is a certified corporate director (ICD.D), and is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for charitable and volunteer contributions.
