ABOUT
Laura brings more than a decade of experience advising senior leaders within the federal Liberal government, giving her clients a practical, insider understanding of how policy, political priorities, and intergovernmental dynamics shape Canada’s energy, natural resources, and economic landscape.
Most recently, Laura served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Canada, where she provided strategic advice on national energy and natural resource policy, major projects, clean technology, mining, and industrial development. In this role, she worked closely with the Prime Minister’s Office, central agencies, senior ministerial staff, and federal departments to help advance complex policy and regulatory initiatives across government.
Laura previously held senior leadership roles in ministerial offices at Environment and Climate Change Canada and Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, as well as serving as Senior Advisor, Parliamentary Affairs to the Honourable Catherine McKenna. Across these roles, she developed a strong reputation for navigating complex government processes and building coalitions to move high-priority files forward.
Throughout her time in government, Laura played a key role in advancing major federal legislation, including Canada’s Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act and the Sustainable Jobs Act, while also helping shape regulatory frameworks supporting offshore renewable energy and major resource development projects. She led extensive ministerial engagement strategies across Canada, working with provincial and territorial governments, Indigenous partners, industry leaders, and stakeholders to build alignment and advance policy priorities. She also supported negotiations and strategic engagement in major international forums, including COP, the International Energy Agency, and G7 summits.
Laura is widely recognized for her deep connectivity across federal government ministries and agencies, and for her ability to translate political priorities into practical policy and regulatory outcomes. She brings a strong track record of helping organizations understand how government decisions are made and how to effectively advance policy change within complex federal environments.
