Ontario Extends Electricity Rate Relief During COVID-19

This morning Premier Doug Ford announced that the emergency rate relief for Regulated Price Plan (RPP) Time of Use (TOU) customers of 10.1 cents/kWh is being extended to midnight on May 31st.

Click here to view news release.

This extends the measure announced on March 24th (see here) of converting all hours of the day to the off-peak winter rate.

Last week we also advised of changes announced by the Government of Ontario pertaining to the allocation of Global Adjustment (GA) to industrial customers in Ontario (ref. here).

We anticipate that the government to continue to work on longer-term measures to affect both RPP and industrial customers.

As always, we will continue to update you accordingly, and please feel free to contact your Sussex associate to discuss in further detail.
