Strengthening Our Federal Advisory Capabilities: Ya'ara Saks Joins Sussex

We are pleased to share that The Honourable Ya’ara Saks, P.C. has joined Sussex as Senior Counsel.

A former Cabinet Minister in the Government of Canada, Ya’ara brings extensive federal leadership experience to Sussex. She served as the Member of Parliament for York Centre from 2020 to 2025 and held senior roles including Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Associate Minister of Health, as well as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development.

At Sussex, Ya’ara will advise clients on international trade, natural resources, mining, and health-related files, drawing on her deep understanding of federal decision-making, Cabinet processes, and intergovernmental coordination. Her experience leading complex national initiatives and engaging internationally strengthens our ability to support clients navigating high-stakes policy, regulatory, and market environments.

Ya’ara’s appointment further strengthens Sussex’s national capabilities and reinforces our ability to provide clients with senior, practical insight into federal decision-making at a time of significant policy and global change. We’re pleased to welcome her to the Sussex team and look forward to the value she will bring to our clients.

H‍appy to help

‍If you have questions about this announcement or would like to discuss how Sussex can support your organization on federal, trade, or health-related matters, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
