ABOUT
Sandy Schembri is an experienced public affairs and policy advisor with deep expertise in energy, natural resources, government relations, and strategic policy development across federal and provincial governments. His work has focused on helping organizations understand and respond to complex policy environments shaped by shifting economic, regulatory, and political priorities, while identifying where policy change creates strategic opportunity.
He most recently served as Associate Partner at NorthStar Public Affairs, where he advised clients navigating complex policy environments and supported strategic growth across sectors shaped by government decision-making and regulatory change.
Before that, Sandy served as Director of Policy to Jonathan Wilkinson, where he supported major files related to net-zero energy, clean growth, and natural resource policy during a period of significant federal policy development. In that role, he worked at the centre of decision-making on issues tied to the energy transition, industrial competitiveness, and Canada’s broader economic strategy.
Earlier in his career, he held senior advisory roles in both federal and provincial governments, including ministerial offices in Canada and in the Office of the Premier of Nova Scotia, giving him a strong understanding of how priorities are developed across jurisdictions and how policy moves through government.
He has also held leadership roles in the private sector, including in government and community affairs at Canada Post and in strategic growth roles within a regulated industry, bringing practical insight into how organizations align policy, stakeholder relationships, and business development objectives.
